For compressed air systems, the monitors are available in two dew point ranges. The first is for use with systems using desiccant air dryers which normally operate within a pressure dew point range of -9 to -40ºC. Is an adsorbent bead form of silica gel that is impregnated with an organic indicator which is rated as completely safe. This product has been developed to replace blue cobalt impregnated gels which have been declared as highly toxic and a health hazard risk. With the progression of moisture adsorption, the beads turn from Orange-Yellow to green. When the beads become saturated, they may be regenerated to their original dry state and colour by heating to between 100 to 120ºC. The product is free of foreign impurities such as Chlorides, Sulphates and other organic matter and has high adsorption efficiency. The material is most economically supplied in 25 kg air tight containers or may be broken down into smaller bagged volumes.
Purge Economizer Controls is an energy management system which allows the air dryer user to operate at a specified outlet dewpoint, and maintain that dewpoint level within a close tolerance, while reducing the volume of purge air required. The volume of purge air will vary proportionally with the volume of air being dried. Standard timed based controls do not allow for purge adjustment due to demand fluctuations, or reduction in dryer loading. Purge flow must be fixed for a maximum dryer inlet capacity based on an anticipated operating pressure with standard time based controls.
